I'm a mom to one precious little boy, and I discovered Stroller Strides while on maternity leave. I've always been a fan of healthy living, and I instantly fell in love with the idea that I could get a workout, meet other moms interested in a healthy lifestyle AND spend time with my baby boy. I find it boring to workout alone but I LOVE working out in a group environment. I can't believe all the inspiring and motivating mamas I've met already! Owning FIT4MOM was a huge leap for me and it's definitely changed my life in more ways than I could have ever imagined.

INSTRUCTOR: Fit4Baby & Stroller Strides

I began my journey with FIT4MOM in Tampa, Florida when I was pregnant with our son, Henry (now 15 months). I continued going to classes after he was born and it was the best thing I did as a new mama. Not only was I able to work on getting my body back and maintaining the healthy lifestyle I had pre-baby (hard to do!), I made a village of mom friends I will hold close to my heart forever. Since relocating to D.C. in June, I was so excited to hear of Michelle starting the FIT4MOM franchise in Capitol Hill. I am thrilled to expose this amazing company to all of the motivated mamas and lovable babies in the District. As a soon-to-be Doula and current FIT4MOM instructor, I hope to inspire, empower and educate women on how to take the time they deserve to actively work on creating a healthy lifestyle in their role as "mama". INSTRUCTOR: Stroller Strides & Fit4Baby

I grew up playing and loving team sports but didn't realize my love of group fitness until adding yoga and spin classes to my slightly boring running routine of several years ago. I started going to Stroller Strides while on maternity leave and loved getting out of the house, meeting other mamas and finding that balance of doing something for myself with Eloise in tow. Needless to say, I was thrilled to find that Eloise also enjoyed going to class! Now 12 months, Eloise still loves watching all the mamas singing and acting silly. I'm thrilled to be teaching and only wish there had been a Fit4Baby class while I was pregnant with Eloise!

INSTRUCTOR: Stroller Strides, Stroller Barre, Fit4Baby and Run Club

I have always enjoyed the group classes at my local gym, but after becoming a mom it became inconvenient. Instead of the gym I would take my son, William, running in a jogger, but knew if I wanted to be more physically fit I would have to add more strength training. This led me to Fit4Mom and after the first class I was instantly addicted! I continued to take classes over the next few months, then I was offered the opportunity to become an instructor and I knew that was the perfect fit for me. I have loved meeting new moms and their babies, helping empower myself and these mothers to get active and have a great time!

I started my adult fitness journey in 2011 with Crossfit. I have had an immense passion for fitness and a healthy lifestyle ever since. I was able to stay very active with Crossfit through my first and second pregnancy, which made all the difference for labor and delivery :) I was so amazingly blessed to stumble upon FIT4MOM Capitol Hill while on maternity leave with my second. My husband and I had just moved from Mississippi four months prior, and it was so hard to find a niche of women and mamas in this new place. After just 2 weeks of class I was inspired to become part of this FIT4MOM team. It was so motivating to be able to get a great workout in while keeping my babies with me. So I took the leap and joined the team. I hope my passion and fire for fitness shows through and we get many more mamas to join this wonderful community.

I played soccer and was physically active for most of my life but I had a hard time getting back into shape after my daughter, Elle, was born. I hadn't exercised during my pregnancy and I had a rough post-birth recovery. Fortunately, I discovered Stroller Strides and I loved everything about it. I found that exercise not only makes me healthier and stronger, it makes me a better mom. When I was pregnant with my son Jackson, I continued going to Stroller Strides and Fit4Baby classes. After he was born, I was able to jump right back into exercise, and I am so excited to continue with FIT4MOM as an instructor.

I have always been a long distance runner, but during the pregnancy of my son, I realized I needed to find other ways to move and strengthen my body. I discovered Fit4baby during my 7th month of pregnancy and was hooked! I even attended Stroller Strides while pregnant, and I jumped right back into class at 6 weeks postpartum. Not only did I get great workouts during these classes, but I also met some of my closest mom friends. It is truly a special community of moms and children! I am so excited to continue my FIT4MOM journey as an instructor and hope to inspire many more moms along the way.

INSTRUCTOR: Body Back

I love combining fitness into family life. FIT4MOM has given me a great opportunity to do that on a whole new platform. As an ACE Certified Personal Trainer and Pre- and Post-Natal Corrective Exercise Specialist, I am passionate about empowering women through strength training. Fitness is a huge part of my life and has been throughout college and my 8 years in the Air Force; confidence in the gym translates to confidence to many aspects of a woman’s life. Functional strength training is even more necessary these days for Mamas on the physical, emotional and psychological levels! I found FIT4MOM Capitol Hill when I first moved to DC and knew immediately I wanted to connect with the Team. Body Back is a great program and I am proud to be part of it. It combines everything I love: free weights, HIIT, and bodyweight training into workouts. As a mom of 2 girls, I believe that leading a fit life should be fun, effective and family-friendly. I love building Body Back workouts/programs that not only meet my clients’ needs and goals, but improve their quality of life and family life in the long term.

INSTRUCTOR: Body Back

I'm a mom of three kids - 12 months, 2.5 yrs old and 6 yrs old. I've always enjoyed being active and have been working out for 26 years. I started playing sports in high school and college. I played volleyball and lacrosse and ran indoor/outdoor track. I started lifting weights my senior year of college and loved the way it made me feel. I even worked out with the Hockey team and did the strength and conditioning program they were doing. My nickname in college was "Fitness Liz". After college, I started a running club and ran my first half marathon. I am always looking to improve myself and decided when my first son was 2 years old, that I was going to compete in a fitness competition. After my second child was born, I was looking to get back into shape and found Stroller Strides. After my third son was born, I returned to FIT4MOM to try their Body Back classes. I instantly knew it was something I wanted to be a part of. I got certified to teach a few months later and absolutely love it. I love being a part of a group of women that understand how important it is to mentally and physically to take care of yourself. As moms, we take care of a lot of people but sometimes put ourselves last. FIT4MOM allows you to take care of yourself and workout with your kids or workout on your own if that works better for you.

I love taking fitness classes, but as a working mom, I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to work out and spend enough quality time with my baby girl. I was also a little overwhelmed with the new mom learning curve, and had NO idea where I could find the resources to deal with sleepless nights, back to work blues, or just commiserate over the latest diaper blowout. I started working out with FIT4MOM when my baby girl was just 9 weeks, and discovered that each class provides me with the perfect balance of a high intensity workout, quality time with baby, and an opportunity to get to know other moms in my neighborhood (and speed up the mom learning curve!). I love that going to a one hour fitness class can check off 3 of my goals at once! I joined the team as an instructor because I’m passionate about creating an atmosphere where moms and moms-to-be can THRIVE physically, socially and emotionally. It truly does take a village to raise a child, and I hope you and your family will join ours!

INSTRUCTOR: Stroller Strides

I will never forget the feeling I had during my first Stroller Strides class as I was jogging for the first time post baby and even pre-pregnancy. I felt so full of joy and strength in what my body could do, and all while pushing my new little bundle of joy in the stroller. I see this same excitement in other mamas during class, and I’m happy to cultivate that experience for mamas as an instructor. I am originally from NC, and I have lived in DC since 2011. As a speech-language pathologist, I continue to sing fun songs for babies but now taking it from the therapy room to Stroller Strides at the park. I am loving this new chapter of life, motherhood, especially as I am getting to know new moms and babies from around the city.

INSTRUCTOR: Stroller Strides

Growing up I was a gymnast. Unfortunately, gymnastics is not a life sport. I taught rec gymnastics for a long time, but I needed to find other ways to stay healthy. I started running. That worked for a long time. When I was pregnant (after 40) I worked full time and did a lot of walking. I thought I was doing really well. However, I did not feel very strong after I had my son. In addition, I needed a social outlet. I found FIT4MOM and it made ALL the difference. I found mom friends to exercise with and we encouraged each other. I look forward to classes for the exercise, community and fun WITH MY BABY. Even when I haven't slept well or I am unsure about what I am doing, I show up at class and I can find someone who totally gets it! It does not matter if you are in top shape or WAY out of shape, you can join in and find your place. See you at class!!

I rediscovered FIT4MOM during my second pregnancy. As a long distance runner, I was really struggling because I was unable to continue running due to morning sickness, and, frankly, exhaustion. Not feeling like myself, I turned to FIT4MOM and Fit4Baby to add fitness back in my life and regain the much-needed outlet my body craved. I was immediately hooked! FIT4MOM is an amazing organization bringing women together to help each other navigate pregnancy and motherhood. I cannot wait to continue my journey with FIT4MOM as an instructor and continue to help empower women throughout their pregnancy and postpartum journeys!

I have always loved being active and enjoy throwing myself into new fitness challenges from training for ultra-marathons and participating in bodybuilding competitions. I also love to share my passion for healthy living with others. I have taught group fitness classes as well as ballroom and salsa dance and am an NASM certified personal trainer. After having my daughter, I was thrilled to find FIT4MOM. I am so thankful to have this space to exercise with my baby while connecting with other moms. The women I met and worked out with at my first Stroller Strides classes were so encouraging and inspiring. I am excited to be an instructor and to empower other mamas on their fitness journeys.

Jordan, is a Florida native, by way of Ann Arbor, Michigan. She enjoys a wide variety of fitness activities including: running, swimming, and any and all team sports. Jordan started with FIT4MOM as a client in 2012, and later became an owner/instructor of the Ann Arbor location. When her family relocated to the DC area, Jordan returned to the classroom where she is a high school math teacher, and is thrilled to be able to continue supporting FIT4MOM as a substitute instructor for the Capitol Hill location.

For as long as I can remember, I have had a passion for fitness and wellness. So when my husband came home from the mall one day, when we were expecting Harper (now 16 months), saying "You'll never guess what I saw at the mall today! A group of moms working out WITH their kids! That would be perfect for you and Harper," I knew I had to check it out. I went to my first FIT4MOM class in Towson, Maryland, and I was hooked. I had found my people! I joined in January 2017 and, by March, I started training to be an instructor in Stroller Strides, FIT4BABY and, later, Body Back. Since relocating to the D.C. area in March, I was thrilled to meet Michelle and join her amazing team! Harper is our rainbow baby, so for me, FIT4MOM is not just a workout class you can bring your kid to. It's an amazing village of strong mamas who not only want to set a healthy example for their kids but a group of moms who support each other through their journey into and in motherhood.

OUR VILLAGE PLAYGROUP CAPTAIN

In 2015, I became a new mother and new to D.C. within a week. I felt tired, didn't know a lot about the fun activities within D.C. and a bit self conscious about my weight. A neighbor asked if I would join her to try out Stroller Strides, and I was hooked. I love how I can work out with my daughter. We've made friends with other mothers and their children and we've created memories doing fun things at some cool places in D.C. I love seeing my daughter trying to replicate the exercise moves. Plus, it's incredible to watch her make friends. When the opportunity to become Playgroup Captain arose, I started jumping for joy. I feel so honored to coordinate Family Stroller Strides class, playgroup crafts and other fun activities for everyone to enjoy. I look forward to getting to know more mothers and building wonderful memories together.

WELCOME MAMA/SALES MANAGER

I've always been an active and athletic person - running, playing sports and taking workout classes. When I was pregnant, a friend saw a post about Fit4Baby and sent it my way, knowing it would be something I'd be interested in. I was hooked from the first class and loved every Fit4Baby class until my son arrived, and then eagerly awaited the time when I could join Stroller Strides! The community of mamas I met through both classes was so important to me that when Michelle was looking for a mama to join the team to welcome other moms to the group I jumped at the opportunity to come on board :) I love helping other moms find a perfect FIT4MOM class to meet their needs - whether it's Fit4Baby, Stroller classes, or Body Back!

MARKETING MANAGER

I started FIT4MOM classes when my daughter was just over a year. Everyday I feel so blessed to have found such a supportive community for both me and my daughter. As a former competitive sailor, I’m a fan of any activity that gets me outside in the sun! As marketing manager, I love encouraging new moms to join our amazing classes and am super proud whenever we are featured in the DC media.
