Stroller Strides/Stroller Barre

What do I need to bring to class?

  • Lots of water!
  • Towel, blanket or yoga mat for floor exercises and stretching
  • A hat and/or sunscreen
  • Baby essentials including snacks and/or toys for your little ones
  • Comfortable walking/running shoes and exercise appropriate clothing
  • Just about any kind of stroller will do so long as it's not prone to tipping - you do NOT need a jogging stroller!
  • I haven't worked since baby was born. Is that okay?

Of course! We offer different exercise levels and modifications at all our stroller classes. If you just received your doctor's clearance or haven't worked out in a while, our instructors will help ease you slowly back into exercise. Feel free to take the class at your own pace and ask for any additional modifications you might need.

Can I still join if I have non-stroller aged kids?

Absolutely! The first Stroller Strides class I attended included moms with newborns, moms with toddlers, and moms with NO kids in tow! You are also welcome to bring your older children to class. It's a great opportunity for your older kids to learn the importance of exercise and staying healthy. We just ask that they stay alongside you for the safety of themselves and others. *Kids under 6 have to stay in the stroller.*

Can I join Stroller Strides if I am pregnant?

YES! We encourage expectant moms to continue to exercise throughout their pregnancy as long as the activity has been approved by their physician. Instructors are trained in both pre- and post-natal fitness and follow the ACOG guidelines. We can modify any exercise that poses an issue as you progress through your pregnancy.

My baby doesn't like being in the stroller for too long, how will I get a good workout?

Babies are Stroller Strides' first priority, so don't worry if yours is fussy! Our classes are designed to keep the kids moving. We engage the kids by incorporating songs into our exercise moves and sometimes use props to keep them entertained. Moms of infants might consider using a baby carrier - we can modify exercise so that they are baby-wearing friendly. With that said, if you need to change, nurse or console your little one then go right ahead! Kids will have good and bad days - some days your baby will nap the entire class and you'll get a great workout and other days your baby might need a little more attention and we can increase the intensity to make up for any missed time. Either way, you are setting a great example for your kids and, before you know it, they will be looking forward to class as much as you are!

    Body Back

What makes Body Back and the FIT4MOM Programs different from the gym?

Body Back is SO much more than just a workout! We are a community of moms where you will find support, encouragement, camaraderie and lifelong friendships. Through education, we help you to create a healthier home and more active lifestyle for your family. We believe you should be empowered and encouraged to push past your perceived limits and find inner strength while building physical strength. We strive to build you up and put you first to create your BEST YOU.

What is the difference between Body Back Transformation Sessions and Body Back Boost?

Body Back sessions are closed 8 week sessions with a max of 12-14 people. The sessions include 2 weekly workouts, meal plans, food journals, at-home workouts, online support and before and after assessments.

Body Back Boost is just the workout, no commitment, drop-in basis, with a max of 25 people in class.

Do I need to Pre-Register or can I just show up?

You must pre-register for the Body Back 8-Week Transformation Session. Our sessions sell out quickly, so you want to hold your spot by registering early!

You can attend Body Back BOOST on a drop-in basis. However, we encourage you to sign up ahead of time for each class you plan to attend so we can notify you in case of class changes or cancellations.

Can I bring kids to Body Back?

No. This class is for women 18 and up without children present.

Can I do Body Back if I am pregnant?

No. This workout is not intended for prenatal exercise and we do not recommend following the meal plans during pregnancy. If you become pregnant during the course of your Body Back session, please notify your instructor. We offer Fit4Baby and Stroller Strides as appropriate prenatal exercise programs.

What do I need to bring to class?

A yoga mat or towel to do your abs and cool down. A resistance band (we will provide one for session moms first day of class), plenty of water, and a towel for your sweat. You WILL sweat!

    What is the workout like?

Body Back has 3 formats: Rounds, Traveling and Circuit. Each is a High-Intensity Interval Training class with a combination of Cardio, Strength and Core. This method (HIIT) is proven to yield the best results and the highest afterburn of calories.

Do I need to be in great shape to participate in class?

No. We have all fitness levels in our classes, but these classes are intense and not appropriate for the early postpartum mom (you must be at least six (6) months postpartum to participate). Our goal is to deliver a workout that will challenge any fitness level. You might not be able to do every single exercise at your first class, but you will be able to by the end of your 8-week session!
